چکیده
The present study deals with the antibacterial activity of B. orientalis haemolymph against five bacterial strains namely, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus mirabilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhi. The results of the present study showed the maximum zone of inhibition against Escherichia coli, moderate effects were observed in Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Proteus mirabilis, whereas the less effect was observed in Salmonella typhi. In SDS-PAGE analysis the prominent bands were observed at 18 kDa, 30 kDa and 66 kDa. The results of FTIR analysis revealed the peak ranges from3299 cm-1 to 546 cm-1. The FTIR spectral studies clearly indicate the presence of various functional groups such as Secondary sulphonamide, Secondary amide, Cyclopeptane, Vinyl halides, Aromatics compound, Triazoles, Thiophenes, Aldehyde group, Methylene compound, Sulphinic acid group, Bromo compounds which may be attributed to the antibacterial activity properties. The results of present study showed that the haemolymph of B. orientalis may have the potential antimicrobial activity.

متن کاملEvaluation of bacterial infection of external surface and digestive system of cockroach species
Introduction: The presence of cockroaches has health implications, such as nosocomial infection, as the insects move freely from areas within and around hospitals that may harbor pathogenic organisms. The aims of the present study were to detect cockroach species and bacterial infection transmitted by their surface and their digestive system. Methods: In this study we caught 250 cockroac...
متن کاملThe influence of the juvenile hormone analogue (S)-hydroprene on Aprostocetus hagenowii (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae), an oothecal parasitoid of the oriental cockroach Blatta orientalis (Dictyoptera: Blattidae)
The synthetic juvenile hormone analogue (S)-hydroprene can control populations of the oriental cockroach Blatta orientalis Linnaeus. Eradication of B. orientalis infestations, however, can take in excess of two years. In an attempt to reduce the time (S)-hydroprene takes to eliminate a population of oriental cockroaches, we explored the possibility of using the oothecal endoparasitoid Aprostoce...

Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) detection of Babesia orientalis in water buffalo (Bubalus babalis, Linnaeus, 1758) in China.
Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) is a rapid method with high specificity and efficiency under isothermal condition using a set of four specifically designed primers that recognize six distinct sequences on the target gene. In this study, a LAMP method was developed for specific detection of Babesia orientalis in water buffalo (Bubalus babalis, Linnaeus, 1758). Four primers were des...
